A well cut red spinel with a visible purplish tint.
It’s a very rare occasion when a Ceylon spinel can truly be called red – most of them are too blackish or brownish to ever reach that hue/saturation combination due to relatively significant traces of iron and low amounts of chromium when compared to other sources.
While definitely not as vivid as finer Mahenge or Myanmar spinels, the stone represents a high tier color for this origin and would make a good addition to any collection with comparison stones from multiple sources.

The only website where all gems get diligently color-matched and edited for accuracy until they reflect what the eye sees in diffused daylight outdoors.
Accurately represented in practical terms rather than abstract grading systems. When we say "eye clean", we really mean it as close up as the eyes can focus.
No commercial cuts here - all of our stones are recut to a high standard for added value, rarity and beauty.
