Brown is usually only present as a tint in sapphires, but in this stone it’s the main hue – so while it may sound like an oxymoron considering usual corundum coloration tendencies, the stone has an absolutely crystalline, pure, clean looking brown hue that looks very pleasant, bright and lively. There’s also a hint of red or pink in its extinction, which adds further depth to the main color.
It’s a pretty good example of the fact that beauty in gemstones doesn’t only come within “trade ideal” color ranges.
The stone is also completely eye clean – the inclusions visible under the macro lens are so tiny they’re absolutely invisible to the unaided eye.
