An exceptionally bright and exceptionally brilliant bluish teal sapphire.
This stone’s color is very unusual for its kind; it’s more bluish than most teal sapphires, but if compared to an actual blue sapphire it becomes clear that it still belongs into the teal category.
Regardless of whether we call it blue-teal or bluish teal, the stone is incredibly pleasant looking. Its intense saturation borders on vivid, and the tone is light enough for the stone to look consistently lit in almost any environment. The complete absence of grey or black modifiers that are so prevalent in teal sapphires also means its hue is unusually pure for its category and this really shows, as it still looks pleasant and evenly colored even towards the latter part of the day (when most teals grey out).
It has a huge spread for its weight, looking more like a 2.20 – 2.40 conventionally cut sapphire would, but it doesn’t suffer from any of the usual problems that come with spready stones like windowing or excessive crown lustre/reflections.
It was recut from 2.10 carats to remake its crown and pavilion entirely and remove the small window that it had. We purposely recut it knowing it would drop below 2 carats simply because a color this rare, pleasant and unusual – and in a round shape, on top of that – really deserves the best cut that it can get.
It is completely eye clean close up, and has crystal-clear, cold brilliance to spare.

Accurately represented in practical terms rather than abstract grading systems. When we say "eye clean", we really mean it as close up as the eyes can focus.
