A gorgeous blue sapphire recut from a windowed stone of 2.64 carats into a very clean and well made rectangular cushion of 2.34.
Elongated cushions usually have a bit of a problem lighting up, but this stone’s facet arrangement on the pavilion isn’t the usual straight one – rather, some facet columns were intentionally and symmetrically twisted slightly diagonally, with the result being that it lights up better than it would have had it been cut more conventionally.
It looks pristinely symmetrical and is very clean for a sapphire of its weight.
The color is on the lighter end of the royal blue spectrum, in between royal blue and vivid blue depending on the light – so it should actually work even in darker climates.
