A rare and exceptionally pleasant looking bi-color sapphire.
Purple isn’t usually a feature of proper bi-color corundum but even if it were, it could be expected to appear alongside streaks of blue or pink rather than something as esoteric and unusual as true grey in sapphire.
Seeing a beautifully intense bluish purple in a clearly silvery-grey stone comparable to grey spinel is nearly unheard of – it’s certainly the first example we’ve ever come across. The stone looks unusually beautiful both because of the color combination itself and because its component colors are both high quality in their own niches.
