This stone was recut from a pear-shaped blue of 1.94 carats that just wouldn’t light up no matter what.
We went ahead and recut it even though it was a bit of a big deal to lose 25% of its weight considering it was an unheated vivid blue. Fortunately, recutting fixed all of its cutting problems, provided ample light return, and even nicely rounded off its color.
It has plenty of saturation, and is completely eye clean despite some silk under the loupe.
