Purple sapphires almost always look drab, dull, overly dark, or have undesirable greyish or brownish undertones that diminish their saturation. This stone has none of those issues – its main hue is unusually pure and velvety, modified only by a pleasant indigo undertone that matches the main body color and works beautifully with it.
Needless to say, it’s not an easy color to find.
