Vivid and loupe clean royal blue.
Once in a blue moon, a piece of rough blue “geuda” (milky whitish-blue corundum) gets heated into a flawless royal blue sapphire and makes its way to us.
The hue is vivid and deep, neither too dark nor too light, and the stone is well cut albeit slightly windowed (we didn't have it recut since a jeweler bought it from us before we could even get around to it). The clarity is excellent – clean under the loupe, although some natural features become visible under a microscope at 40x in darkfield illumination.
Goes without saying that this is a super rare combination of color, clarity and size.
