While “bright” and “saturated” aren’t usually the first words most people would choose to describe a brown gemstone, this orangish brown sapphire is both bright and saturated in the extreme for its species.
It doesn’t feel gemologically right to call brown vivid, but the interplay of pink and orange in the stone’s base brown hue lends it saturation that isn’t normally expected or seen in a brown sapphire. For the lack of a better word, the stone is simply very saturated for what it is.
Adding to that is its exceptionally good brightness – so not only is it saturated, but it also has an “open” color that’s usually considered a must for desirable high quality sapphires.
